We have some sad news
We were very sad to receive the news on Monday that part of the Publow Oak at Great Avon Wood had collapsed as a result of the […]
We’re so pleased to have the support of Amanda Birch who is running the Bristol Half Marathon this Sunday to raise money for Avon Needs Trees!
Amanda explained her motivations for taking part in the race, “We are in a climate emergency, and Avon Needs Trees is a really wonderful charity helping create new woodlands to fight the climate crisis, help nature bounce back, as well as creating natural spaces for future generations to enjoy. Running 13.1 miles sounds quite frankly terrifying to me and training has been tough due to injuries, but I am going to go and give it my all as it is a cause very close to my heart.”
We are delighted that Amanda has taken on this challenge to fundraise for ANT. In just four years, we’ve planted over 35,000 native trees with the help of over 1000 volunteers from local and surrounding communities, and we are currently on the search for our next site. We’ve grown from strength to strength and this has only been possible due to our amazing supporters like Amanda.
