Naturalist, wildlife television producer and author Nick Gates takes us behind the scenes of his book ‘Orchard: A Year In England’s Eden’.
Co-written with his good friend and fellow naturalist Benedict Macdonald, this award-winning book takes the reader through a year in the life of a traditional Herefordshire orchard, told from the perspective of the creatures that live there.
With a notable list of red-listed rare species thriving in this pocket of Herefordshire countryside, in this talk Nick delves into what it is that makes this form of land use so brilliant for some of our rarest species, and highlights what we can learn from it to improve our farming in the future. Nick will share a huge range of never-before published photographs, and include some never-shared videos, to really bring the orchard to life.
