Carys joined the Avon Needs Trees team in 2021 as one of the charity’s earliest staff members. She has a first class Masters degree in Political Theory from the University of Sheffield, and is deeply passionate about climate action and sustainability.
While at university, Carys gained valuable experience in advocacy through a work placement with the Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust. She played an active role in their Wilder Future campaign, which pushed for a stronger Environment Act to protect and boost biodiversity.
Before joining ANT, Carys worked in administration and marketing for a Bristol-based housing charity, where she further developed her skills in communications and organisational support.
Outside of ANT, Carys is a keen forager, with a passion for learning about plant life and fungi. She enjoys exploring woodlands, ancient sites, and reading about folklore.
