Join us for storytelling around the Publow Oak as Lisa Schniedau shares tales of ancient trees and woodland folklore.
The Publow Oak has been growing for centuries. What has this mighty tree seen in its journey from sapling to ancient spreading oak? What stories does it inspire? Join Lisa Schniedau for stories of ancient trees, and folklore of human and woodland connection, in the shelter of the oak and the surrounding fields and hedgerows.
Lisa is a storyteller and environmentalist based on Dartmoor who trained as an ecologist and has worked in British nature conservation for over twenty years. Find more information about Lisa’s storytelling performances, projects and writing at www.lisaschneidau.co.uk

Great Avon Wood is our groundbreaking project in partnership with Forest of Avon Trust, creating permanent woodland and improving biodiversity at 113 acre site near Pensford, south of Bristol. Tree planting began at the site in late winter 2023 and will continue over the coming years. The project also aims to improve public access to the site and share it’s fascinating heritage.
This event is free to attend and we are very grateful to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for their support.
